There is a folk museum named after a Miao embroiderer, Ou Donghua, a lady who dedicates her life to promoting Miao embroidery and founder of the Oudonghua Folk Costume Museum in Guizhou"s Kaili Miao and Dong Customs Garden. Its total area takes up 2,100 square meters, while the exhibition area is about 1,480 square meters. It holds up to 10,000 exhibits, among which there are many rare and precious pieces.
在凯里苗侗风情园内有座以一位苗族绣娘名字命名的民族服饰博物馆——欧东花,“欧东花民族服饰博物馆”的创办人,一个倾尽半生心血致力于苗族文化传承与发展的苗族妇女。欧东花民族服饰博物馆。其建筑面积2100平方米,展陈面积约1480平方米,馆内展品数量多达万余件,其中不乏奇珍孤本,十分珍贵。
The Oudonghua Folk Costume Museum has since its establishment been studying the Miao culture, developing the Miao-embroidery cultural industry, and helping with the inheritance of its crafts. Moreover, the museum also serves as a platform for independent innovation of the folk crafts. While bringing more jobs and income increase for the embroiderers in the mountain areas, it also develops cultural and creative products, in turn to feed back to the protection of the folk art and its development.
欧东花民族服饰博物馆多年来研究苗族文化、发展苗绣文化产业和传承,不仅陈列藏品和传承民间民族工艺艺术,且追求民族工艺自主创新,在带动山区绣娘就业、增收的同时,开发文化创意产品,发展民族文化产业,以产业发展收益反哺民族文化保护和博物馆发展。
